Saturday Night Takeaway: A woman gets engaged on a show

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway kicked off a new series with a heartwarming segment, featuring an audience member surprised by an emotional wedding live.

Oblivious bride Vicky was surprised with her dream nuptials at the end of the new series’ first show, after complications from Covid-19 had already seen her wedding canceled multiple times – costing her and his partner Nick, £28,000.

But the live wedding did not take place in the studios.

The pregnant bride-to-be had to brave storm Eunice and take to the skies in a helicopter to get to her surprise wedding venue in time.

Cheeky Geordie duo Ant and Dec returned to our screens on Saturday night – with a live studio audience – and it was business as usual on the ITV show.

At the start of the show, the TV presenters got to know the audience, leading fan Vicky to join them on stage to discuss her proposed wedding plans.

Viewers learned how the bride-to-be saw her plans to walk down the aisle ruined thanks to the ongoing pandemic, with her nuptials canceled multiple times and her venue bankrupt – costing her and fiancé Nick 28 £000.

Cameras then cut a live video link of groom-to-be Nicki – who Vicky thought was in Miami – revealing a very big secret.

Clearly shocked and surprised, Vicky accepted the challenge and walked out of the studio to her impending nuptials.

Before embarking on her mission, Ant and Dec gave the bride-to-be a cheeky gift — a personalized bouquet with some shots of their cheeky faces included.
