Beyoncé’s Second $12,000 Wedding Dress Was A Mile Away From A Mother Conceived

Beyonce and rapper Jay Z celebrate their fourteenth wedding anniversary on April 4, but did you know that Crazy in Love singer and her lover renew their vows ten years after their 2008 nuptials? And the bride chose very different outfits!

The couple tied the knot in front of 40 guests, including Kelly Rowland, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, at Jay-Z’s Manhattan penthouse, decorated with 70,000 Dendrobium orchids from Thailand. Designed by her own mother Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s first wedding dress was a strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline and an A-line skirt, which she paired with a long veil.

However, when she said “yes” for the second time in 2018, the hit designer wore an off-the-shoulder dress by couture wedding dress designer Galia Lahav – who was also the mastermind behind one of the Paris Hilton’s wedding outfits and sell sunset Star Christine Quinn’s bold black design.


Beyonce’s second dress featured a figure-hugging silhouette and sheer detailing, and was completed with an endless veil that costs about $12,000 absolutely.


The Thelma dressas described on the brand’s website, is “a Victorian wedding dress” that is “corseted with a sheer back” and features “an off-the-shoulder neckline and sheer draped silk tulle sleeves.”

For Beyoncé’s mother, the abandonment of her original style may not have come as a shock, because speaking with the Today show, Tina revealed that she felt like Beyoncé didn’t like her first wedding dress many.

She said: “She came back later one day and said, ‘You know, when my daughter gets married, I’ll let her choose her own dress. Maybe she wasn’t that excited then, but she’s adorable.”

The couple managed to keep their renewal ceremony completely secret until they shared a romantic film on stage during their Run II tour, revealing snippets from the magical day. The images showed Beyoncé looking flawless in her decadent wedding dress, alongside her husband Jay-Z and their three children, Blue Ivy, Rumi and Sir Carter.


The iconic wedding brand posted a full-length photo of Beyoncé in her stunning second wedding dress more than six months after the day, writing, “Queen B herself @beyonce wore the Thelma dress for her and her husband, Jay-Z’s vow renewal is back in June, but this is the first official image from this remarkable day – and we’re in love all over again!”
