Watch Father of the Bride ONLY on HBO Max

HBO via Youtube

It’s been a while since a rom-com has been a smash hit — the last 10 years have produced a dearth of films worthy of Meg Ryan. Long live the 90s – until now, that is. Over Father’s Day weekend, the timely release of a new “Father of the Bride,” starring Andy García and Gloria Estefan, debuted on HBO Max and immediately became the No. of the streaming service.

The romantic comedy took the No. 1 spot worldwide on Sunday after releasing on Thursday, June 16. The United States had the most views of any country, but “Father of the Bride” also made it into the top 10 most-watched titles in Mexico, which came in with the second-most views. all countries.

Watch Father of the Bride

It’s not the original “Father of the Bride”, of course – which happened in 1991 (yes, all the way back then), and starred Steve Martin, Diane Keaton and Kimberly Williams in his Premier role. Like the old version, the 2022 version is based on the eponymous 1949 novel – but this time around it features a Cuban-American family based in Miami with the characters of García and Estefan on the verge of divorce.

Same for the “Father of the Bride” course, there is a lot more drama than an ongoing divorce: there are disagreements between the father and the engaged couple about the type of marriage it will be (large and traditionally Cuban, against something a little smaller), the wedding dress (a fashion designer sister is opposed to the wishes of the wedding planner) and a lot of pride-fueled dissatisfaction between García’s character and the father (very rich) of the groom.

Of course, that’s not all – a lot goes wrong between the engagement and the aisle, including wedding-threatening storms. But like the romantic comedies we’ve missed so much, there’s also plenty of family, love, and laughter.

Check out the movie on HBO Max to get in on some little rom-com action (and have fun chilling with your co-workers).

You can’t please everyone, and that’s especially true when it comes to weddings. Although stories of bridezillas regularly go viral, there is also an endless supply of nightmarish guests.

Whether it’s a “little” mother-in-law in a white dress or “out of place” jokes in the witness speech, with so many personalities in one place, you just can’t predict. how the big day will unfold.

Yet a pre-wedding guest’s food complaint has a bride on edge before her ceremony has even begun. Assignment at Mumsnet’s AIBU (am I being unreasonable?) forum on Saturday, the woman asked if she was “stingy” in choosing to have a buffet rather than a sit-down meal at her wedding.

User MimosasInFrance explained that she and her fiancé were forced to plan their wedding quickly due to the illness of a family member. As the ceremony was taking place during the holiday season, they had decided to organize a Christmas-themed hot buffet for their wedding breakfast.

nobody is hungry

She wrote: “We opted for a hot buffet for the meal – probably a Christmas rotisserie type situation (a good one!) because we thought it was a bit more relaxed and also honestly it was less dear.

“I also thought that people with special eating habits (like my family members!) might find it less stressful than a three-course sit-down meal.

“We serve lots of wine and soft drinks etc. It’s a twilight wedding so I don’t think anyone should go hungry.”

However, a parent’s comment causes the bride to question her decision.

She continued, “I just had a reaction from a family member who seems to think it’s akin to serving beans on toast, and it’s got me in a panic. Everyone go- does he hate it and think we’re stingy?

“I try not to get caught up in everyone’s expectations because I know that’s how the costs get out of control.

“Aibu to serve a buffet?”

There are about 2.6 million marriages in the United States in 2022, the most since 1984. According to The marriage report, couples who previously had to postpone or cancel their weddings due to COVID are responsible for the large number of ceremonies taking place this year. However, the effects of the pandemic are still visible, with couples facing record costs to walk down the aisle.

The average cost of a wedding rose from $24,000 to $27,000 after the pandemic, thanks to the highest inflation in 40 years. Venues are also expected to lose money from delayed weddings, with pre-pandemic agreed rates not covering today’s ceremony costs.

Mumsnet users saw no problems with the bride’s buffet plan, with almost 200 comments from people showing their support.

“A sculpted Christmas buffet sounds like heaven!” says frankly absurd.

USaYwHatNow agreed, writing, “I think that sounds like a great idea. Warm comfort foods for a winter wedding, perfect!”

Many users have reminded the bride that it is her wedding, so she and her groom should choose what makes them happy.

“Your marriage, your rules,” Iamnotamermaid said.

“It’s a free meal for them, no one has the right to complain or say they don’t like it!” writes sintrawest.

“Do whatever YOU want at YOUR wedding,” Ginandslippers commented. “If they don’t like it, they don’t have to come, it’s simple.”

Helpful Hints

Although 1VY has made some suggestions to help customers who might be struggling with a buffet.

“[It] can be very inconvenient for some guests, especially older parents [or] disabled guests who cannot stand in line for 10 minutes while balancing a plate,” she explained.

“I think it works best if you have staff serving the food because it stops the greedy bastards pushing [to] the front taking more than its fair share.

“[Basically] you need someone from the wait staff to MANAGE it, maybe calling a few tables at a time and giving priority to older relatives etc.”

A user claiming to be an event planner agreed, adding, “As an event planner, I strongly urge you to consider the logistics of the layout. You’d be surprised how many sites don’t plan this properly. at all.

“It sounds crazy, but I imitated setting up really big events to streamline lunches, and they really thought about everything, like where the cutlery is picked up, where the trash goes, what people are holding.

“The feedback [improves] dramatically if you think about the logistics.”

Getting all your friends and family to agree to keep one day of the year free so they can attend your wedding isn’t always an easy task, and chances are you have people who can’t do everything. just not come.

But a bride has been upset after being told a ‘good friend of the family’ might have to skip the big day – just six days before she is due to walk down the aisle.

In a social media post which was shared on Reddit, the bride-to-be said she heard from another wedding guest that her friend might not be able to make it due to a scheduled “procedure” his wife is undergoing at the on their journey to try to start a family together.

And although the bride understands the big event in her life, she can’t help but be disappointed that her friend isn’t there.

She said: “Our wedding is in six days and I just found out that one of our good family friends might not be coming anymore because the wife is having surgery tomorrow because she wants to have a baby. I guess than IVF, but I have no idea.

“I’m so annoyed. Our wedding has been on their calendar for 16 months and they’ve chosen tomorrow for this procedure?

“We also already paid for their meals and they didn’t even tell us anything, I heard that from someone else.”

The bride has also heard that another friend of hers who is attending the wedding will not be drinking because they are also trying for a baby and will not be staying at the hotel with the rest of the guests.

In her post, the woman said she wants to “respect what they’re going through” but struggles to come to terms with the fact that her marriage isn’t a “priority” for her friends.

She added: “I’ve also heard that another member of their family and one of my closest friends won’t be drinking because she’s also trying to have a baby. None of them stays at a hotel with the rest of the family, instead staying with their parents, an hour away.

“I understand that life happens and I want to respect what they are going through, but I can’t help but be annoyed.

“We went to all of their weddings and we were super excited for them, and now that our wedding is here, it feels like it’s not a priority for them at all. It sucks to realize that nobody will be never as excited about your wedding as you are.”

Commenters on the Reddit post were split because while some could see why the bride would be upset, others said she was being unreasonable.

One person said, “If someone was angry, I didn’t drink, I wouldn’t be their friend anymore. I wouldn’t even come to the wedding.

While another added: “It’s hard when your group of friends have moved on to the next phase of life and your events don’t have the same excitement. It’s understandable. But it kinda sucks, so my heart aches.”

And a third wrote: “I can definitely see how annoying it is to just hear from other people that people who have already responded and are now included in your bill drop out days before without even telling you .”

Imagine if you were getting married and someone decided to wear a dress similar to the one you wore…pretty sure you would become the ultimate bridezilla

She has explained countless times why she is upset (stock image)

Getting married is supposed to be one of the most exciting days of your life.

Granted, it can come with its constraints and drawbacks, but usually the people around you will go out of their way to try to make it as smooth as possible for you.

But sadly, that’s not always the case, and one woman was so frustrated with her boyfriend’s fashion choice for the day that she thought it would ruin the whole day. So much so that she debates not inviting him to the celebrations.

Taking to Reddit to express her frustration, she explained that her 24-year-old college pal, whom she refers to as “B”, was very excited about her outfit as it was her first non-family wedding.

She writes: “Now, while we are both British, B is ethnically white where I am South Asian. She said she wanted to wear a saree to my wedding, so I told her a few places where she could find one and she went shopping and I told her that red was our wedding color and therefore should be avoided.

“Now she says she fell in love with a red and gold saree and bought it. I told her it was the color of my wedding dress and she had to find another She said she was sure it wouldn’t matter on the day but like… it’s the equivalent of someone wearing a white dress to a western wedding.

“She refuses to compromise and change her outfit because she loves it so much and she won’t have another occasion where it suits her to wear a saree.

“I don’t want anyone wearing red and gold on my wedding day. WIBTA if I uninvited her for that? »

People were quick to point out how horrified a western bride would be if someone wore a white wedding dress to her wedding.

One wrote: “She insists on wearing a wedding dress to your wedding. She can stay home and wear it there.

“You told her no rouge and she won’t respect it so no more invitations.” If she can’t show respect, she’s no longer welcome. It’s a common rule,” fumes another.

Others noted that she made the decision deliberately, rather than accidentally showing up in something similar.

They wrote: “The difference is knowledge that you’re doing this rather than making an accidental fashion decision.”

Do you think she’s right not to invite him? Have your say in the comments section below.

“Exactly, if it was a long white evening dress at a western style wedding, it would be the same, but she (the guest maybe more) doesn’t seem to understand.

“I think instead of strictly disinviting her, tell her for the 100th time that what she bought is a wedding dress and what you’re going to wear, so it’s inappropriate for her to wear it as well, then let her know if she walks in, she won’t be let in and follow through.

“Makes it more obvious to everyone that it’s their fault and not yours, and not just any ‘bridezilla’ behavior, at least in my opinion,” one said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A local bride is heartbroken after someone stole her wedding photographer’s laptop with nearly all of the photos from the special day on it.

Now she’s hoping someone spots the equipment – or has it – and calls the police to return the footage.

It was May 15 when Blakley Swanson Clement got married at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. A professional photographer has captured so many precious moments, including when her dad first saw her in her wedding dress.

“It was wonderful. It was everything we hoped and dreamed of,” Swanson Clement described.

The day flew by, but she knew she would have photos to relive those fleeting moments and pass on to future generations.

“Think about starting a family, that we can show our kids our wedding photos one day,” Swanson Clement said.

Now all she has are some snaps taken by family and friends of the bride and groom

Her photographer told her that some of the professional photos had been saved in the cloud, but nothing with the whole family at the church or on Nelson Lawn where they gathered after the ceremony for the portraits.

“Knowing that they are gone is really heartbreaking,” she said. “It’s just hard to understand that I don’t have pictures of me and Devin, and my parents or his parents, my siblings, his siblings and things like that.”

That’s because her hired photographer stopped by Loose Park the day after her wedding to take her own photos. She kept her MacBook in her car while filming. When she got to her car, it had been broken into. The laptop and the four cameras were gone. The photographer gave Swanson Clement the devastating news this week.

The photographer filed a complaint with the police. Swanson Clement hopes it’s not too late to find the footage.

“Anyone who has these items in their possession, you know, find the courage in your heart to come forward anonymously and return them if possible. Just because it would mean the world to us,” she pleaded.

If you have information to help Swanson Clement and her husband, call the KCPD Metropolitan Division Property Crime Division at 816-581-0679.

A wedding the guest was struck down by the the bride and the groom’s lack of concern during dinner.

The guest continued Reddit‘s”Marriage Humiliation» forum to let off steam. When they found out the wedding would have a taco bar, the Reddit the poster was really excited. However, things turned out quite differently in reality. The taco bar buffet quickly ran out of meat and there wasn’t much of an alternative or recognition.

In debt? A financial expert explains how get back on track

“I went to a wedding that I had to travel for”, the Redditor wrote. “The bride is a longtime friend of mine. Anyway, the wedding was a little weird. You could tell they were spending on some things and not at all on other things. For example, he had some decent past appetizers.

“Now I don’t care if there’s a buffet instead of a plated dinner. Woohoo seconds away! And I love tacos. I’ve been to a different wedding where the dinner was a taco buffet and it was excellent.

The problem arose when everyone realized there wasn’t enough protein for everyone.

Recreate Tinashe’s In The Know cover makeup look with these products:

“Well….we saw a lady ordering people to stand table by table. We waited and waited and so did the table next to us,” the post Lily. “Then no one was ordering people to come upstairs to eat. We got up to the buffet alone and the taco meat was gone. My friend asked one of the staff about the food and they were able to scrounge up the meat that they were going to use to feed the gang. Overall I ate a taco with rice inside because I didn’t want the group to starve.

“Even weirder – we knew the dad of the bride knew they had no more food. However, this was never addressed or acknowledged to us. It was our table of about 8 and the next table of about 8. Other corners were cut as well. There was clearly no staff to clear tables from the dance floor, so we had about 1/8 of the room to dance. Simply a very strange experience.

The editors agreed that food was an essential requirement at a wedding.

“They definitely cheapened and didn’t recognize it,” someone said replied.

“We spent SO MUCH on our wedding food to have more than enough for everyone. I don’t regret it at all, everyone loved it,” another commented.

“Food and drink should flow. Save money on flowers, but for God’s sake food and drink should be in abundance,” another said.
