Emmerdale’s Olivia Bromley spotted wearing a harness under her wedding dress in heartbreaking stunt

Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has opened up about the dramatic stunts she filmed with co-star Jay Kontzle during their action-packed week on the ITV soap opera.

Olivia and Jay’s characters Dawn Taylor and Billy Fletcher are finally getting married, but their happy day will quickly turn into a nightmare after they are kidnapped by Meena Jutla, writes The mirror.

They will be tortured by the serial killer before Billy is forced to choose whether he or Dawn will die at his hands.

Meena has already had at least four deaths – so far.

Opening up on the dramatic scenes, Olivia told our sister newspaper The Mirror: “I have to wear a harness under my wedding dress – it’s incredibly uncomfortable. Not just to breathe, but to move in. And to be in a wedding dress in January on an overpass wasn’t one of the most comfortable filming experiences, basically.

“But we had a lot of fun, didn’t we, Jay? It was a good laugh. I’m pretty excited for the next one. [few weeks]. We just have a good time when we film a story like this. Even when it’s really dramatic, it’s a perfect soap opera story. Every actor wants to do this kind of thing and the three of us had a great time.”

Jay added: “My harness, they tried to keep it on me because they hold you and say, ‘Leave it, Jay. Because it’s literally like a dog collar. I was like, it’s not even that far! But they wouldn’t take it away. I even think I went to lunch with it!

He went on to admit that he found it “scary” to watch his co-star Paige Sandhu transform into slayer Meena.

Jay said: “We were talking about the acting method and stuff like that and obviously Paige doesn’t do that. But she’s getting into that character and it’s quite inspiring to watch her and see her evolve into Meena because that she carries the character so well and that’s the complete opposite of who she really is.

“She’s not that kind of person at all, she breaks the role and it’s very interesting to watch her do it. You’re really scared of her. You actually have this fear inside that she is actually quite scary.

“But she’s so grounded in this role that she has so many different cues and that. She communicates really well with the director. She’s a fantastic actress.”
